For the most part the recipes and methods found here are excerpts from my cookbooks, From Katie’s Kitchen, volumes 1 and 2. These books are intended primarily as heirlooms for my future generations.
The heritage of food and its specific preparations can be passed down from one generation to another if only we’ll take the time to do so. Does just the simple smell of baking bread or bubbling stew bring back a specific memory for you? What about an apple spice cake?
Since my cookbooks double as heirlooms for our children and we have pasted the recipes from the cookbook document to this website, one can find bits of familial history peppered throughout the recipes. Sometimes these notes might be interesting to all readers and at other times only our family will appreciate the anecdotes.
Please notify me with any questions, comments or specific recipe requests. I have so many ideas to share. Please remember to check back often.
