Meet the April 2026 Sponsor of The Journal newspaper

What is The Journal newspaper?

Diligent Homemakers in the Heritage Ways community around the world anticipate the arrival of the home-grown, community newspaper called The Journal. This publication is written by and for homemakers and homesteaders on topics such as sewing, cooking, animal husbandry, cleaning, child care, gardening, natural health and other heritage skills. During an era when screens rule the day, you can rest easier while reading a publication that is printed on actual newsprint. Just the feel alone is enough to reduce the stressors of today’s fast-paced society. Enjoy the crossword puzzle or word search after getting a kick from the Trivia section. Meet with homemakers who share information about their lives within the States and from Canada, England and South Africa. All readers are encouraged to submit “News from Home,” book reviews, recipes, jokes, inspirational messages, and more.

The Journal is not just a publication but a place where homemakers can meet and be reminded that the world is full of good people striving the same way as you. The publication has an underlying Christian worldview and does not accept writings or mentions of political topics.

The Journal in-home newspaper is mailed six times a year.

Sit back and enjoy tips on showing hospitality, healthy living, homemaking improvements. Be sure to keep each issue as every one contains timeless and valuable resource material. Gardening tips, recipes, and advice from “Dear Granny” are sure to be as helpful next year as it is now.

The Journal is produced by an all-volunteer Staff. All subscription and ad/sponsorship revenue is used to purchase materials and postage. Read all about it and subscribe to The Journal newspaper here.

Advertisement and Sponsorship

The purposes of advertisements in this publication are to support small, local, home businesses and to off-set the production costs. In a world where fast, cheap and disposable are the norm, we promote higher quality, well-made goods, services and attitudes. Advertisements off-set rising costs of paper, ink, postage and other materials necessary to print this community newspaper.

The Journal publication only has six Sponsors per year. My personal goal is to provide a spotlight on businesses with whom I am familiar. I am happy to report that I can validate each of this year’s Sponsors as businesses that I trust and appreciate.

Why use linen?

Linen is – Highly Conductive – means it keeps cool in temperature, “which is the same scientific principle that makes metal feel “cool to the touch”? (cr.Wiki)

So now imagine how nice you’d feel wearing White Rose Linen pads during your mensis?

Say goodbye to heat rashes, itchiness, Sweaty-betty feels, all the cons of wearing disposables. No heat, no sweat, no rawness and no itch.

Linen is Highly Breathable – means it keeps your undercarriage from suffocating and reacting to lack of airflow.

Linen is Highly Absorbant – wicks and absorbs quick pulling moisture away from your body, preventing the “soggy feel” women experience wearing pads.

My Experience with Washable Cloth Pads

Alert, this is my personal testimony and is, well, personal…

Over 15 years ago, I began my journey toward more conscientious feminine health. My awareness of what the homemaking community was calling “mama cloths” was peaked and I ordered some washable pads from a homemaker that I had found on Etsy. Coming from years of super-heavy and painful cycles, I wasn’t sure how this was going to go! Surprisingly, using those pads literally did change my life as my cycles were not as heavy and the cramps were much less present. The washing of them was not at all as scary or annoying as I had wondered. Also, there is just something lovely and sweet about using and wearing floral, all-natural products, even when no one else can see them. These made me feel feminine and loved. I was hooked and have never looked back.

Those “mama cloths” eventually wore out and literally came apart at the seams. When my wonderful Mr. Patient would help fold or put away our laundry, he would spot my freshly washed pads and say, with more emphasis each time, “Katie, this is ridiculous, these things are falling apart. You have got to buy yourself some new ones!” Since that homemaker was no longer found on Etsy, I asked my friends and followers on Instagram for referrals. Many ladies responded with the same answer — “White Rose Linen is fabulous! Just contact her here on Instagram to place your order.”

That was the year she had started her business, around 2022-2023. I placed my custom order, Mr. Patient happily budgeted for this investment and I have had zero complaints about these feminine pieces that I use daily. The pads are durable yet comfortable and easy-to-clean.

Ladies, let’s face it, those of us outside of our child-bearing years also require a bit of ….. support. We laugh, we cough, we live life. White Rose Linen’s products are the right ones for all ages of ladies who prefer healthier, feminine lifestyles.

In 2019, I spent a lot of time researching the use of commercial disposable products and my findings frightened me.
Check out the four-part YouTube video series that I published on the topic of feminine health HERE. These videos are not related to White Rose Linen as I hadn’t met her yet.
