Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole, Retro Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz. egg noodles cooked in water with 1 T. salt, drained
  • 1 cup frozen peas put in colander under noodles to thaw
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1 can mushrooms drained
  • 1 onion chopped and cooked in 2 T. butter optional
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheese cheddar or American is classic
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients and pour into well-greased casserole dish.
  • Top with mixture of 1/2 cup melted butter and 2-4 cups bread crumbs.
  • Bake 425F 20 minutes.
