Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole, Retro Recipe
Ingredients
- 16 oz. egg noodles cooked in water with 1 T. salt, drained
- 1 cup frozen peas put in colander under noodles to thaw
- 2 cans tuna drained
- 1 can mushrooms drained
- 1 onion chopped and cooked in 2 T. butter optional
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups cheese cheddar or American is classic
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients and pour into well-greased casserole dish.
- Top with mixture of 1/2 cup melted butter and 2-4 cups bread crumbs.
- Bake 425F 20 minutes.
