Creole Slaw

Serves: 6-8


  • 2 c. white cabbage shredded
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 c. red cabbage shredded
  • ½ c. Creole or whole grain mustard
  • 2 c. turnip greens trimmed, washed, shredded
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1 c. red onion thinly sliced
  • ¼ t. fresh ground black pepper
  • ½ c. green onions sliced
  • ¼ t. cayenne pepper
  • ½ c. fresh parsley washed, chopped
  • 2 t. sugar


  • Combine all vegetables in large bowl.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in small mixing bowl then add to vegetables. Stir well.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.


Notes: This is delicious with New Year’s Day Hoppin’ John, simple black-eyed peas or
white beans. Add cornbread and have a feast!
