Football Dinner Stew

  • 1 lb. stew meat
  • 5 potatoes peeled, cubed
  • 5 carrots peeled, sliced
  • 1 onion quartered
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of tomato soup
  • 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • Garlic Salt
  • Meat tenderizer


  • Grease 9 x 13 casserole dish and place meat in dish. Lightly shake garlic salt and meat tenderizer over stew meat.
  • Place vegetables on top.
  • Combine soups and Worcestershire sauce; pour over meat and vegetables.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 225° for 3 hours.


This is a delicious dish and nicely served with cornbread or Mayonnaise Rolls. The meat tenderizer is optional if the avoidance of certain preservatives is of interest to you.
Canned condensed soups may be substituted with homemade cream sauce.
