Ham and Corn Chowder


Ham and Corn Chowder

I made this recipe from leftovers one day. The whole family enjoyed.


  • Leftover ham cubed or diced
  • Leftover mashed sweet or white potatoes
  • Chopped onions
  • 1 qt chicken broth
  • ¼ t. dried thyme
  • 8 oz. frozen corn
  • 1 c. milk.
  • ½ t. salt
  • 4 T. cornstarch
  • 1 t. black pepper


  • Heat ham, potatoes, onions, broth, corn and thyme in soup pot, stirring occasionally to keep potatoes from sticking to the bottom of the pot.
  • Bring to a boil;
  • In a shaker or glass jar, add milk, cornstarch, salt and black pepper. Mix well and add to pot.
  • Heat thoroughly and enjoy with cornbread on a blistery day!
